Nutrient packed ingredients like banana, almond butter, fresh spinach, strawberries and chia seeds. This Detox Green Smoothie what I drink daily and feel great doing it.

So here’s a new year, a new diet. You know how it goes. I’m not a fan of diets, but I do like to really cut back in January to counteract everything I put into my mouth over the holiday’s.  I call this the detox green smoothie because it has everything you need to jump start your nutrition and get you back on track to better eating.

Every ingredient in this smoothie plays a part in the overall nutrition. Here’s the breakdown:

Banana: This give the smoothie creaminess as well as B vitamins, potassium, magnesium and improve digestion

Almond Butter: Not only does this give the smoothie a lovely nutty flavor, you also benefit from the added protein, fiber, good fats, calcium and helps stabilize blood sugar

Frozen mango: Chills the smoothie, adds natural sweetness, helps boost metabolism, improves digestion, clears the skin, as well as Vitamin C and betacarotene

Strawberries: Loaded with antioxidants, vitamins and help control blood sugar

Fresh Spinach: So many vitamins (to many to list) protein (yes), and is the best all round vegetable for detox

Almond Milk: A great dairy replacement and provides fiber and lactose free so it’s easier to digest

Lemon Juice: Aids digestion and can help eliminate toxins as well as vitamin C, B-complex vitamins and so much more

Chia Seeds: As well as added protein, they have fiber to help you feel fuller longer

Doesn’t all that info want you to make this smoothie everyday?

My daughter is a big smoothie fan, and I know she’s going to want to try this one. She can’t eat spinach though, so maybe kale would be a good substitute.

I was lacking energy and motivation to do work out. And whenever I did, I’d be sore the next day. As soon I started taking this supplement, I wasn’t nearly as sore or tired the next day, and my recovery time also improved.

Since I get plenty of fruits and veggies I think I’ll take your recipe for “Green Juice” and make it without the Aloha. Although for some, I bet it comes in handy. Most of the time I like to eat my meals, but, like you said, in a pinch a smoothie is the perfect thing. Thanks Janette! Pinning.
