Halloween Blood Orange Martini
Halloween Blood Orange Martini is a fun and colorful ‘bloody’ drink to serve for Halloween along with a mocktail option for the kids. Complete with an easy spider decoration, this drink is deliciously citrus and just ‘bloody’ good.
Are you ready to drink blood this Halloween? Spiders are getting into everything around here and even making webs right in the drinks! It might be time to exterminate.
This martini recipe uses lemon vodka and triple sec for extra flavor, but can also be made into a mocktail so no one is left without a drink in their hand. Just substitute lemonade for the vodka and triple sec.
Blood orange soda or juice can be used. If you’re lucky enough to find blood oranges, use freshly squeezed. It is just the perfect shade of red. I guess it’s not called blood orange for nothing.
To make the drink a little more spooky and really get into the mood, I painted a spider web onto the inside of the glass using black gel frosting that can found in any grocery store in the baking section.
I recommend freezing the glasses after adding the web and before pouring in the liquid. This helps set the spider web to prevent it from getting ‘washed away’ and also keeps the drink chilled.
The spiders are just plastic props that can be found all over this time of year. I glued black sewing thread to him, then glued the other end of the thread to the rim of the glass. That’s all there is to getting in the Halloween drink spirit.

Oh, how I miss blood oranges!! It is funny that they were in abundance when I was in NJ. In Florida (the state that is known for oranges) rarely has any blood oranges. This looks so delicious. Love the hand drawn web you did on the glass. Very creative.
This looks great! Definitely going to have one of these tonight! The spider is a cute idea!
