Easy Indian Spice Blend
This Easy Indian Spice Blend is a delicious combination of spices that can be an everyday seasoning for chicken, fish, vegetables or even spice up a soup. This is not a particularly spicy blend. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would say it is a 2. If you want to add a kick, paprika or cayenne pepper can be added to your taste.

When you buy a jar of curry powder from the spice aisle, it is a combination of spices that make up the curry taste. The one I have for you here is not so much of a curry blend, but a blend of spices to achieve a delicious Indian-inspired flavor.
I always have a large and varied collection of spices in my cabinet. Right now I have around 43 different spices. Call me a crazy spice lady (it may seem like a lot) but I do use them every day. Here are some examples:
- Breakfast (I love fennel seed in my scrambled eggs)
- Lunch (dried dill for my salmon salad)
- Dinner (dried basil for grilled chicken)
I use this Easy Indian Spice Blend to flavor my Indian Spiced Peas (picture below) and recently started using it on simple grilled fish and chicken. Can you tell that Indian is my favorite cuisine? I have almost 20 Indian and Indian-inspired recipes.

The recipe is made in a big batch. This way you can keep the blend in a jar so it is on hand anytime you want to add instant flavor.
This spice blend will keep for years in a sealed container in a dark cabinet. Tip: If you find your spices get lumps, this just means they’ve been exposed to the air and moisture and the lumps can be broken up with a shake or with a fork.

It looks like you’re missing a spice. Eight are pictured, but you only list seven.
There are only 7 spices in the recipe. I added 2 piles of coriander in the photo to even out the composition.
I love this idea, I always thought i had to buy blends
It’s so easy to make your own, right?
