Baked Honey Soy Chicken Drumsticks

Chicken drumsticks are baked in a soy, ginger, chili sauce until they are sticky and good.

Ingredients

  • 8 chicken drumsticks
  • 1 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 ½ teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 ½ teaspoons freshly grated ginger
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 ½ teaspoons garlic chili paste
  • ½ cup (170 grams)honey
  • 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
  • Toasted sesame seeds for garnish
  • Green onion chopped for garnish

Instructions

  • Add the drumsticks to a dish with a lid.
  • To a mixing bowl add the soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, ketchup, chili paste, honey and brown sugar. Whisk to combine.
  • Pour over the drumsticks, cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
  • After 2 hours, preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Cover a 2 - 9 x 13 inch baking dishes with a double layer of foil.
  • Add the drumsticks and cover with the sauce coating both sides of the drumsticks. Bake for 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes, turn the drumsticks and bake for a further 25 minutes until the sauce is reduced and thick.
  • Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onion.
