Slow Cooker Chicken Cacciatore

- 2 cup (16 ounces/453 grams) crushed tomatoes or passata
- ¼ cup (60 ml) dry white wine or chicken broth
- 1 cup (75 grams) mushrooms of your choice chopped. This is the measurement of the mushrooms chopped, not whole
- 1 cup (128 grams) onion sliced
- 2 cloves garlic peeled and finely chopped
- 3 tablespoons capers drained
- 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil plus 1 tablespoon more for garnish, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt or to taste
- ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 4 bone-in and skinless chicken thighs or breasts
To a 4-quart (3.5 liter) slow cooker add all of the ingredient except the chicken. Stir to mix well.
Add the chicken and make sure they are submerged in the sauce.
Cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 4-5hours.
