Baked Herb Goat Cheese with Marinara Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (245 grams) of your favorite marinara/pasta sauce
  • 4 ounces 4 ounces (113 grams) round of goat cheese *see note
  • 1 teaspoon mixed fresh herbs chopped (I used thyme and rosemary)
  • Fresh basil chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F/190°C.
  • An oval or round dish, size 8 X 6-inch (20 x 15 cm)
  • Spread the marinara sauce to an even layer of the dish. Place the goat cheese in the center of the bowl on top of the sauce. Sprinkle with the teaspoon of herbs.
  • Place the bowl on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes. Turn on the broiler (oven grill) until the cheese is bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly, top with the fresh basil.

Notes

If you can’t find goat cheese already in a round shape, mold and form as best you can your favorite goat cheese into a round shape.
