Grilled avocado veggie burgers. MorningStar Farms grillers originals cook up just like any burger, but these have a special twist, grilled avocado for a smoky flavor. Who says meatless grilling can’t be this yummy?
We like to go meat free a couple of times a week, but that doesn’t mean we have to eat bland, boring food. This also carries over to the grilling months of the Summer, I’m going to show you how veggie cuisine can still be delicious.
I have been using MorningStar Farms frozen foods for years now. I like to keep their burgers and patties on hand in the freezer at all times for those days when I just don’t feel like cooking a complete meal, I call this my ’emergency food.’
When it comes to Summer grilling and entertaining I know that if there is someone in the group who is meat free, it’s no problem. I can whip them up my grilled avocado veggie burger, or a garden veggie patty (my favorite) and they don’t feel left out while everyone is digging in to great BBQ, don’t forget the fries.
If you’ve never tried grilling avocado, I highly recommend it. It takes the somewhat bland fruit and gives it great smokiness along with my signature homemade barbecue sauce this makes for one tasty burger. Don’t forget to grill your buns too. So now it’s time to build a delicious veggie burger.
Once you have all of your components in place, the first thing is to slather the homemade barbecue sauce onto the bottom half of the nicely grilled bun. To that, add a nice crispy lettuce leave, a burger patty, a slice of tomato, the grilled avocado and finally the top of the bun with a nice spread of barbecue sauce.
